I was lucky enough to take a live class from her in Jan '15.  She is amazingly talented, very funny, and a really great instructor. She gave me a great piece of advice when I asked her how I could loosen up my painting/journaling.  She immediately replied, "don't be afraid to suck."  I remember that every time I sense myself getting too rigid with my art.  Thanks Julie!

I had a MUCH better "influenced by Pam Carriker" page, but it unfortunately stuck together and ripped very badly.  It wasn't salvageable.  I laugh every time I see the portrait, because I was just painting a made up face, and while I was painting, I had re-runs of Bones and Castle in the background.  I think she looks like an odd cross between Emily Deschanel and Stana Katic.
